But in some ways after being at the event there now seems a greater expectation that all three of these technologies start championing a successful social video living-room experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are some facts to explain why these technological opportunities are a big part of the race to opening up our living-rooms via our devices and Connected TV's: &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/business/markets/social-reader-gets-facebook-grabbing-the-headlines-again-7678484.html"&gt;Facebook's Frictionless sharing&lt;/a&gt; &lt;i&gt;[social reader]&lt;/i&gt; acts like a big social TV guide by posting what you're reading/watching to your news feeds and friends automatically without you even being on Facebook. Eddie Robbins of Groovy Gecko energetically identified &lt;b&gt;live video events or broadcasts as a more exciting social video opportunity&lt;/b&gt; that people literally flock to.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;The connected TV technology is much younger than tablets&lt;/b&gt; but under even greater pressure than tablet PC's [from the video and social industries] to perform a greater role in the living room especially.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Connected TV's must have the ability to (for ultimate living room convenience) merge available interfaces and converge with platforms that are socially 'switched-on' such as &lt;b&gt;speech recognition, web camera interactions and frictionless sharing/posting&lt;/b&gt; The TV ad, which went live on Wednesday 4th April, features &lt;b&gt;Gary Barlow&lt;/b&gt; singing George Harrison's classic summer tune &lt;b&gt;"Here Comes the Sun"&lt;/b&gt; joined by Lisa Snowdon, Myleene Klass, Dannii Minogue, Noemie Lenoir, Jamie Redknapp and Twiggy. The ad shows the celebrities enjoying a &lt;b&gt;quintessentially British summer&lt;/b&gt; with garden parties, sport days, boating and football.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Adjust Your Set&lt;/b&gt; produced a raft of behind the scenes content to compliment the campaign including, the story behind the ad, celebrity summer tips and their thoughts on the perfect summer. East London Gay Film Festival&lt;/b&gt; (12-15th April 2012) are harnessing the power of video to engage their audience by introducing the First Love project. Inspired by Dan Savage’s hugely successful ‘It Get’s Better’ campaign, which generated over 30,000 unique video entries and 40 million views, the festival team are asking: &lt;b&gt;who/what was your first love?&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The premise is this: &lt;b&gt;love is a human right and it takes on infinite shapes.&lt;/b&gt; The Fringe! team are asking for each contributor to shoot a 1-3min account of their first love, be it their first boyfriend or girlfriend, their pet rabbit, playing the guitar…each account is equally valid. The videos can be shot using webcam technology, camera phones, home video recorders, Flip Cams, Canon 5 &amp;amp; 7D’s- any format that people can get their hands on. It is completely democratic. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone can shoot a film- &lt;b&gt;the aim is to document as many unique and diverse testimonies as possible&lt;/b&gt;; be it gay, straight, black, white, young, old, transgendered- the more videos that are collected, the better. The project aims to challenge mainstream media representations of love, as far too often these simply aren’t varied enough. The aim of the campaign and video, made by activist group Invisible Children, is to raise global awareness about Kony and the atrocities at the hands of his Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) - mainly through strategic online campaigning and social media outlets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Quite frankly, if you haven't watched or heard about this video, you've been living in the 1980's when viral video's were just a glimmer in Tim Berners-Lee's (inventor of "The World Wide Web" for you less tech geek people out there) eye!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The campaigners hope that through increased awareness, the US government  will continue assisting the Ugandan government's efforts to have Kony  arrested. Omid Ashtari from Foursquare and previously at Google, discussed &lt;b&gt;contextual experiences&lt;/b&gt; while Colin Cook at the British Army said the brand was going back to the &lt;b&gt;“purity of social media.”&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the key terms of the day that stood out and used by the team behind McLaren’s digital campaign was &lt;b&gt;“everything for a reason.”&lt;/b&gt; Brands should definitely harness this when creatively brainstorming any new campaign, from print to outdoor to online video. Russ Hall, co-founder of Hailo and genuine cabbie gave the presentation outlining how the business started and how it’s growing. His passion for the business really shone and certainly got everyone’s attention in the audience. There was definitely a lesson to be learnt from his presentation that brands, both big and small, should tap into the passion upon which they were founded in all marketing campaigns and engagement with their customers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Of course for Adjust Your Set we feel &lt;b&gt;innovation is in video&lt;/b&gt;, and more specifically video strategies for brands as they engage with consumers across multiple channels and devices. Each new transformation of the campaign is received by a loyal customer following and industry interest.
